Envisioning Success: A Reiki-Infused Goal-Setting Session

Success: We all want it in various areas of our lives: relationships, health, parenting, creativity – the list goes on. But how do we actually define success? What does it look and feel like? How do we achieve it? And how can Reiki help us in our journey?
The Oxford Dictionary defines success as “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” Some people define success as making a certain amount of money. Mister Rogers defined success as being kind. Sometimes, success is simply getting out of bed in the morning.
The point is that success looks different for everyone. Despite these differences, an essential part of success is having something specific to work toward. Ah, yes – goals. Goals are those things that you wish to accomplish in life.
Goal-setting is incredibly important for self-mastery in every part of life. After all, hitting a target you can’t see is very difficult. Once you’re clear on what you want to achieve, it’s time to begin embodying the behaviors that will get you there.
Reiki is particularly valuable here, especially compared to other holistic methods, because Reiki will empower you to reach your goals while appeasing the stress, pressure, and anxiety often accompanying this process.
This article explores the Reiki-success connection in an interview with world-renowned speaker, businesswoman, and Reiki Master Teacher Pam Allen LeBlanc. In a nutshell, we’re giving you a step-by-step process that shows exactly how you can work with Reiki to make your dreams a reality.
Get cozy and buckle in for an inspiring interview – you’re going to want to take notes on this one!
An Interview About Setting and Achieving Goals | Pam Allen-LeBlanc
Dragonfly: Can you share your journey with Reiki and how it has influenced your personal and professional goals?
Pam: I was a really typical type-A personality who was constantly driving and striving. Today, I still tend to be pretty effective, but my goals are so much more soul-led than by my personality or ego now that I have Reiki.
Now, I use Reiki to make every decision. That way, I always know I’m on the right path. If I’m not sure how to act or need to make a tough choice, I turn to that little voice inside. Kind of like intuition, Reiki can help guide you on your path, if you learn to listen.
Dragonfly: At what point did you realize how you looked at your goals and success in general was changing?
Pam: Instantly with Reiki. I felt calmer and more relaxed knowing that I had Reiki as a guide on my soul’s path. As long as I do my daily self-practice, I stay confident that I’ll accomplish my life’s purpose. Before, I felt like I was on a hamster wheel, and also somehow constantly guessing at what my next step should be.
Dragonfly: What do your goal-setting sessions typically look like? Can you walk us through the process?
Pam: They usually involve a paper calendar and my journal – And Reiki. First, I plan for the year, then I look at each month individually. Then, I go into each week of the month and schedule each day. I’m not micromanaging my schedule – I just try to plan to get one of my more significant goals accomplished each day, and then everything else is a bonus.
Sometimes, if a goal feels overwhelming, I brainstorm it and break it down into smaller, manageable steps. Or I simply don’t think about it and just ask Reiki each day what I’m supposed to do about this. That way, it’s very intuitive and doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Dragonfly: What are those big, scary goals for you right now?
Pam: Going into politics, my next book, leadership with the ICRT, podcasts, new courses, articles, speaking engagements, the list goes on! I always have a lot going on – Still Type A, just a less stressed Type A!
Dragonfly: How does Reiki help remove blocks that might prevent us from achieving our goals?
Pam: If there’s a goal you have that you haven’t accomplished, even though you’ve dedicated sufficient time and energy into making it happen, it’s probably because there’s an energetic block or barrier in the way. The good news is, if you know your goal, you can apply Reiki to whatever is holding you back. And once those blocks are removed, you can accomplish anything.
You can also send Reiki to each of your goals, after having used Reiki to help decide what those goals should be. Once you’re on the right path, each action in pursuit of growth will bring you joy, a sense of purpose, and greater prosperity.
Dragonfly: Given the importance of finding joy and aligning our actions with it, how do you recommend we prioritize our passions and find a balance between obligation and personal fulfillment?
Pam: Of course, we all sometimes have to work jobs we don’t love to pay the bills – But just make sure you’re putting most of your heart and soul into the things that make you feel truly joyful. And this can be anything. A few things that truly bring me joy: Taking my dogs on walks in the woods, spending time with the people I love, taking on a new challenge, reading a good book… Find your joy, and spend more time with it. As soon as that becomes a priority, your life will begin to transform.
Dragonfly: What’s your definition of success?
Pam: I decided a long time ago that my version of success has nothing to do with what society tells you is successful. Success, to me, means spending time with my family and being there for them. Feeling comfortable in my body, my skin, my soul. Being able to pay the bills without being a slave to money. Spending time doing the things that I love. And, of course, I’ve always had an all-encompassing goal to make a difference in the world.
Reiki showed me that the best way to make a difference for others is to find peace and growth within yourself. So, I decided to do more things that brought me joy.
In my past life, I achieved enormous success as a businesswoman, and it left me feeling hollow and empty. After that, Reiki helped me define what success looked like to me, and today my work and actions leave me feeling accomplished and joyful.
I think a key element of that sense of purpose or success comes when we do things for others. For me, that can look like giving Reiki sessions, cooking a meal for my family, or sharing my knowledge with others.
There’s an exercise in surrender in the ICRT Reiki Master Manual (“The Way of Reiki”), where you can choose to surrender completely to Reiki and let it guide you. I did that a long time ago, and ever since, my life has been incredibly fulfilling and successful – Beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by all the incredible things that Reiki has brought into my life, and I am always filled with gratitude for them. And it just keeps bringing more.
Dragonfly: Can you think of a simple Reiki technique or practice that our readers can incorporate into their daily routines to help them accomplish their goals?
Pam: Activate Reiki, then write down your goals for that day. And try to stick to no more than 3 – And if those 3 seem overwhelming, ask Reiki to help you break them down so you can accomplish them. But keep in mind that if your list is too long, you’ll accomplish very little.
Also, don’t forget to take some time for self-care, and for daily self-Reiki. The higher your own energy levels, the easier it will be to accomplish all that you set out to do.
Summary: A Step-By-Step Plan to Achieve Your Goals With Reiki
Now that you’re most likely feeling super inspired from that interview, we’re going to give you a step-by-step method for achieving your goals with Reiki. And don’t worry, if you’re not a Reiki practitioner, you can still use these steps to achieve your goals with more peace, clarity, and direction.
Step 1: Set the Scene
- Grab your journal or computer.
- Create a high-vibe space: you can use Reiki symbols, incense, candles, crystals, soothing music, or whatever makes your space feel elevated.
- Get into a calm and grounded state by taking some deep breaths and setting the intention to connect with the goals that are most aligned with the highest good for yourself and others.
Step 2: Invite Reiki into the space
- Activate Reiki and open yourself up to its guidance. Trust that Reiki is serving your greatest good, and that when you are in service to your greater good, the benefits ripple outward into the world.
Step 3: The Plan
- Write down the goals that are coming to your mind. You can focus on long-term goals or short term goals. If you’re having trouble coming up with some goals, here are a few questions that can help:
- “What things or activities bring me the most joy, and how can I make those a bigger part of my life?”
- “Is there something I’ve always wanted to do but have been too afraid?”
- “If I could snap my fingers and be in my dream life, what would be different? What are the small steps I can take to start getting there? The big steps?”
- Now that you’ve brainstormed, add a timeline to each goal on your list. How long do you think it would take to achieve this goal, if you started prioritizing it now?
Step 4: Putting it into action
- Revisit your goals daily. Ask Reiki for support, clarity, and guidance. Receive Reiki treatments to address blocks or do self-treatments if you can. Find an accountability partner who will lovingly encourage you. Sign a contract with yourself and get a witness. Do whatever you need to do to see it through. You’ve got this.
Final Thoughts...
There will always be detours and delays along the road to success. Remember, it’s all part of the process. As long as you stay committed to your vision and are willing to keep trying, even when things get hard, you’ll get where you need to be. You may even find that you arrive at a different outcome – One that’s even better than what you’d originally planned!
