About Cindy Harms
I am a certified Reiki Master Practitioner of the Usui/Tibetan system of Reiki, and have been practicing Reiki since 2008. I have also received Oncology Reiki Practitioner certification and animal and equine Reiki training. After a car accident that required nearly a year of physical therapy, I decided to take a beginning level Reiki class. I was curious to learn what Reiki is all about, and thought it might help with my physical and emotional healing. After taking a Level I class, I became fascinated with Reiki and went onto compete all levels of Reiki training.
I was a member of the Reiki program at Seattle Children’s Hospital, where I provided Reiki sessions to physicians, nurses, administrators, parents, caregivers, and volunteers. While living in Las Vegas, I gave Reiki sessions to those affected by cancer at The Caring Place, an adult services program which provides no-cost programs and services to those who have or have had cancer, as well as their caregivers. I currently volunteer with Hoag Hospital’s Hoag at Home Hospice Care Program, which I visit patients in Orange County, CA and offer Reiki to patients with their permission.
I have a special place in my heart for those who receive Reiki for cancer, chronic pain, and mental health conditions. I’m a three time cancer survivor, had chronic back pain for 15 years, and have dealt with anxiety, depression, and PTSD in certain periods of my adult life. Reiki has helped me with physical and emotional healing, and I’m so grateful to have Reiki in my life and to share this gentle, non-invasive healing modality with the world.
I currently offer in person and distance Reiki sessions to humans and animals, and offer a free consultation. I am a registered professional member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP), and I adhere to their Code of Ethics.
I live with my husband Bill and my sweet black cat Sam. When I’m not working I enjoy being outdoors walking, going to the beach, wine tasting, taking flamenco dance classes, yoga, pilates, seeing performing arts concerts, live music concerts/festivals, watching movies, and reading.
