Teri Kingston Reiki
- St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada
I first became a Reiki Master in the late 1990’s. At the time of my training, there were a handful of Reiki Masters in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Now there are 100s!
I remember how excited I was to teach my first Reiki Level 1 and 2 (Usui) all those years ago. Life’s many challenges and changes moved me away from Reiki for almost 3 decades. During that time, I evolved, and Reiki evolved. In early 2021, I received some strong spiritual guidance to return to Reiki. I listened! in June of 2021 I re-certified as a Usui Shiki Ryoho Master Teacher and have started teaching again in my new home in Saint Andrews by the Sea, New Brunswick.
When my second husband, the light of my life, was diagnosed with an incurable heart and lung disease, I turned to Reiki to support myself and the emotional roller coaster that was our next 5 years. On his final day in hospice, when he was actively dying, I spent the day at his bedside, bathing both of us in Reiki and seeing him walk over the final bridge between this world and the next with all the love and grace I could muster. I talk about this journey in the TEDxTalk I gave in 2021. “Can we live better by talking about dying”.
My journey as a caregiver, and the final farewell I shared with my husband and my father 8 months prior, has shaped who I am as a Reiki practitioner. Providing Reiki support and love to those who learning to say goodbye to loved ones (human and animal) is a huge part of my Reiki practice. Grief support before, during and after these major life transitions is such an important instrument in our healing process.
My other focus is on helping people manage performance anxiety. As a classically trained pianist and professional speaking coach, I have studied performance anxiety and managing stage nerves for anyone who needs to step into the spotlight. Reiki sessions that support performance preparation and embracing the stage with ease and grace are part of the services I am happy to offer in my online Reiki treatments.
There is a beautiful labyrinth on the floor of a little church here in my new hometown of Saint Andrews, NB, Canada. This labyrinth has 7 circuits. Reiki focuses on the 7 main chakras. Teaching Reiki in the church, doing the attunements in the centre of the labyrinth is pure joy. There is a wonderful synchronicity of energy in consciously combining the two. You will need to travel to St Andrews (on the Bay of Fundy) for these in person classes, a trip I know you will never regret!
When I’m not teaching Reiki, coaching speakers or delivering talks of my own, I simply eat too much dark chocolate as I sit and soak in the sea air of St Andrews, NB.
There are many life issues and challenges that create anxiety in us. Reiki sessions bring support, love and soothing to our mental, emotional and physical selves that can provide relief. Even one session can prove helpful. Ongoing support is also extremely beneficial.
I know first hand how losing a loved one is one of the most traumatic life events we can experience. This loss hits us on on so many levels. Finding the support you need to navigate this new and unwanted territory is crucial.
Reiki Healing is a powerful tool available to help support you as you move through all the stages of grief.
I have found that receiving 6-8 Reiki healing sessions as part of your healing really helps integrate and support the complicated journey of moving through grief and loss.
