I have been an animal lover since I was a child living in rural southeastern Pennsylvania. And have had dogs and cats ever since I was able to convince my parents to “rescue” my grandmother’s dog when she had to move to a condo. I was never able to convince my parents to get me a pony as a child, but I have ridden horses on and off since my teens. Imagine my delight when I moved to Florida in 2012 and landed in Wellington, I was, and still am, excited to be in such a beautiful and diverse equestrian community.

Growing up, I planned on going to school to be a veterinarian, but my love of math and science lead me to pursue engineering. I put my dreams on working with animals on the backburner and surrounded myself  with animals that I love. After working as a Navy civilian for 20 years, I decided to make a change and began mulling over my options thinking that maybe I should go back to my original passion, animals. As I started exploring my options I found Reiki and Animal Reiki through the International Center of Reiki Training (ICRT); much to my surprise I found that I loved supporting the human caregivers as much as I did the cats, dogs, horses, etc. that we all love so much. I decided to lean into this beautiful insight and start Stagberry Reiki to help and work with both the animals I so easily connect with and the humans in their lives.
