When you host an event using Dragonfly Reiki’s Zoom account, you will join the meeting as a participant by default. To access host controls — such as managing participants, enabling screen sharing, and starting recordings — you will need to claim host access using the Host Key.

Your Host Key will be provided to you when we send your Zoom links for your event.

What Is the Host Key?

The Host Key is a 6-digit code that allows you to claim host access within a Zoom meeting.

Because you are not signed in as the Dragonfly Reiki Zoom account holder, the Host Key is what gives you permission to take control of the meeting and access host features.

Without entering the Host Key, you will remain a participant and will not have access to host controls.

When to Use the Host Key

You will use the Host Key after joining your Zoom meeting.

Once entered, you will immediately become the host and have full access to host controls.

You will need to enter the Host Key each time you join the meeting. If you leave and rejoin, or host the same meeting link on a different date, you will need to claim host access again using the Host Key.

How to Claim Host Access

After joining your Zoom meeting:

1. Click Participants in the meeting toolbar

2. At the bottom of the Participants panel, click Claim Host

3. Enter the 6-digit Host Key provided to you

4. Click Claim Host

Once accepted, you will become the host and will have access to all host controls.

What Host Access Allows You to Do

As the host, you will be able to:

• Mute and unmute participants

• Remove participants if necessary

• Control screen sharing permissions

• Start and stop recordings (if enabled)

• Manage the waiting room (if enabled)

• Support the overall flow and safety of your event

These controls help you create a smooth and professional experience for everyone attending your session.

Important Reminder

Keep your Host Key private and do not share it with participants. Anyone with the Host Key can claim host access in the meeting.
